Whether it is with clients or fellow developers and designers I like to approach my work in a collaborative manner. I believe that working together allows us to elevate the level of the work as we all bring different strengths and passions to a project.
When building a website I work with the latest web technologies to build solid future-proof websites that look great on any size screen.
Studying at HackerYou with Wes Bos has given me the solid foundation in writing efficient and effective code and the ability to create an outstanding project through all stages of design and development using only the best and latest techniques.
Artist profile - jessicahein.com
A minimalistic portfolio site for visual artist Jessica Hein. We used a simple colour scheme on the navigation to differentiate her collections and Flexslider to present the images in a simple scrolling navigation.
Toronto Sisters - Abbey of the Divine Wood
A spirited group of volunteers and activists who use theatre to promote education and draw attention to various causes that they support. This fully custom WordPress site needed to showcase this exuberant group using lots of photographs and visual cues and provide access to information to the public and let the community know where to find them.
(currently only a landing page as we build out the content)
jQuery Product Gallery
Using jQuery my classmate at HackerYou and I created this product gallery that allows for selecting the image using the thumbnails on the side and and inspecting the details on hover.
Building from design
Working from a design given to us we were tasked with recreating a website and making it fully responsive.
Style guide and wireframing
Planning! Using wireframes and creating a style guide will help define the scope and process of a project.
Personal site v 1.0
The original. The first site I built after a week of learning HTML and CSS at HackerYou.
From cows to coding. I was once a farmer, but now I wrangle code not cows.
Though they are nearly polar opposites I felt the same excitement when I discovered coding as I did when I was farming.
When I am not creating I love to get out and explore the city, most often on my bike. I run and try to get in a few road races each season and am an enthusiastic if dilettante photographer.
